About Roger Lindsay
Van Doorene
Roger's journey spans continents, careers and a lifelong passion for horses. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he rose quickly through the showjumping ranks — runner-up in the BP National Challenge at just 15 and captain of the Hickstead International Schools team at 16. Training under respected names like Philip Smith, Peter Gotz, Anneli Wucherpfennig and Ed Simpson, he honed the skills to compete nationally and internationally. By 25, he was a sponsored professional, piloting “Executive Blue” and “Listor” for top owners. His marketing studies took him from Witswatersrand Technical Campus to Cornell University, blending business insight with competitive drive. During that time, he worked with the BBC documenting historic moments in the Mandela era and modeled for Elite Models in print, radio and film.
In 1996, Roger moved to Pasadena, CA, where he worked in the entertainment industry with artists including Stevie Wonder, Eddie Murphy, Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), and SKG Productions, all while continuing to train, teach and sell jumpers internationally. By 2002, he had settled in Nashville, building a respected national career in equestrian training and competition. He has competed in the USA, UK and South Africa and is an active member of FEI Campus, USEF, USHJA and the American Holistic Vet Foundation. Today, Roger combines his equestrian expertise with creative storytelling, producing dynamic videos for equestrian, music, corporate and political clients across the United States.
